I don`t remember what it was called but it was the first bottle. Oddly enough I got them back to normal with Blackfire. I took it as a chance to see how I could fix them. Fortunatly the wheels weren`t anything special and I didn`t lose any sleep over them. I sent my son out to get the wheel cleaner and he picked up the wrong one by mistake. Greased Lightning makes a degreaser and a wheel cleaner. Little did I know I was using the wrong bottle. I used Greased Lightning on some wheels and they turned out horrible. I use the heck out of Greased Lightning, as I hate the smell of Simple Green, and except for the wheel fiasco, the GL has done a great job for most anything else. I learned a good lesson again (if one really learns something new each time they make a mistake, mensa should be calling me soon!). I had to use some chrome/aluminum polish on the wheels and really work hard to bring the rest of the wheel to where it all matched and the streaks from the GL blended in. The Detail Institute presented by Autopia-carcare.I used a Greased Lightning/water mix to clean the grime and brake dust off the painted inside of my front wheels and some of it ran on the polished aluminum outside of my wheel and really discolored it.Tire, Wheel, Chassis and Engine Detailing.Quick Navigation Car Detailing Product Discussion Top I rushed back to the store to snatch up 4 more bottles since they only had this as a "special buy". I have read about someone in the US getting it for only $3! Here in Canada it costs only $5.99 for 32 oz (946mL), versus the $7.50 (discounted) for 26 oz (768mL) for A2Z. The BEST part of Orange Blast wheel cleaner besides the performance is the fact that it is a bargain. Another good product, but more expensive than A2Z, so I was left thinking "why bother?" with that. The last wheel cleaner I tested that is in A2Z`s league was Meguiar`s Hot Rims. Yes it`s longer, but this isn`t necessarily a bad thing since it gives you more working time. A2Z suggests only 30 seconds, but Orange Blast suggests 1 minute up to 2 minutes for heavily soiled wheels. Dwell time for the products are different. I`ve noticed acidic wheel cleaners tend to "transform" and dissolve the brake dust and partially turn it clear, rather than the "melting" and loosening action of A2Z. Orange Blast is acidic (it even tells you about oxalic acid content), rather than basic like A2Z, but that doesn`t worry me since A2Z is one of the few non-acidic wheel cleaners. The products are a bit different, but not in any way that`s significant IMO. TRUE "spray on, hose off" performance is a rarity, and my wheel brush remained dry and unused the entire time. The half and half test with A2Z showed it was just as capable as that and both products left the wheel equally clean. WOW, was I impressed! :up I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly and easily the Orange Blast cleaned off the brake dust! After thoroughly spraying the dry wheel, waiting a minute, and hosing it off, it was left spotlessly clean. I keep my little wheel brush handy so I`m ready to be disappointed. I take both products outside when I wash the test vehicle and, since front wheels always have more brake dust than the rears, I usually do one wheel entirely with the new product, then do the other front wheel half and half with A2Z. Normally I`m a big fan of Eagle One A2Z because of its strong performance, and use that as a yardstick to judge other wheel cleaners by. Ironically this is shortly after I swore I would stop trying out new wheel cleaners after a string of disappointments. On a whim I bought a bottle of this stuff to try out because it was inexpensive.
